Gift Card Terms and Conditions

Your purchase and use of a gift card constitutes acceptance of The Chocolate Box’s terms and conditions.

There are 2 kinds of gift cards available from The Chocolate Box. One is the e-Gift card which can be emailed digitally to customers and purchased from our website, here

You can also purchase a physical gift cards in our retail stores. 

The following conditions refer to our our plastic gift cards, purchased in our stores.

PURCHASES

The value on the gift card can be used to purchase goods and services from The Chocolate Box, excluding other gift cards or e-Gift Cards.

The customer can nominate the value of the card with a minimum value of $20 (up to $1000).

The initial balance of the gift card is activated at purchase. We cannot add to, reload, or transfer, amounts on your gift card after it has been activated.

EXPIRY

The Chocolate Box’s gift cards expire 3 years after issue, in line with Australian consumer law. 

To get full value of the gift card, we recommend you use up all balances prior to the expiry date, which is written on the back of the card at time of purchase.

REDEMPTION

Present this card at time of purchase and purchase amounts will be deducted from the card balance. 

If you wish to make a purchase that exceeds your gift card’s value, you will be required to pay the excess by another method.

The Chocolate Box physical gift cards can be redeemed at The Chocolate Box stores in Melbourne (City, Airport, and Suburbs) and Sydney (Airport).

Physical gift cards cannot be redeemed at our online store (chocolatebox.com.au). 

Gift cards cannot be redeemed from our resellers, or retail channels other than The Chocolate Box stores. 

LOST OR STOLEN CARDS

The Chocolate Box will not replace lost, stolen, or destroyed gift cards. Keep your card in a safe place.

CARD BALANCE

To find out your card balance, take it to any of The Chocolate Box stores, or telephone your store with your card numbers ready, and we can look up your balance for you.

CORPORATE CARDS

Corporate cards can be purchased directly from The Chocolate Box. Please phone our corporate representative +61 3 9676 6400, or email corporate@chocolatebox.com.au.

NOT REDEEMABLE FOR CASH, NO EXCHANGE

This card is not transferable.

You cannot redeem your gift card for cash or receive any remaining portion of the gift card value in cash. You cannot exchange part or whole of your gift card for another gift card. Any balance left after the expiry date is voided.
