The chocolate experts from The Chocolate Box have answered any questions you may have about Ruby.

What is Ruby Chocolate?

Developed by Barry Callebaut, Ruby chocolate is the fourth official variety of chocolate to be released, joining milk, dark and white.

A spectacular pastel pink in colour, Ruby chocolate has been in development since 2004.  The Instagram friendly tones occur naturally from the cocoa bean and most importantly no artificial colours and flavours are added in the manufacturing process.

The pastel pink tones of Ruby Chocolate will certainly be appearing on your Instagram feed come mid-September.

What does it taste like?

The Chocolate Box’s owner Marion Adler-Bishop, was in Europe where Ruby Chocolate is already available and got to taste it herself.

Marion described the Ruby Chocolate flavour as the perfect combination of sweet and sour, with a wonderful berry undertone, giving it a unique taste which is extremely different from the existing milk, dark and white chocolate varieties.

Ruby Chocolate - The Chocolate Box

The Chocolate Box’s Owner and Marketing Director, Marion Adler Bishop spent 6 weeks exploring Europe, when Ruby Chocolate was first released.

When will it be released?

Ruby Chocolate is expected to be available at The Chocolate Box in mid-September.

Where can I buy it?

You will be able to purchase Ruby Chocolate at each of The Chocolate Box stores and online.  But we recommend getting in quick as we expect high demand for the new chocolate.

The final verdict

A light and fruity option and an extremely smooth texture, be sure to taste Ruby Chocolate when it is available and make it a regular part of your chocolate fix.
