This October The Chocolate Box is proud to be supporting the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) through the release of our BCNA block for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
As one of The Chocolate Box’s owners and directors, Marion Adler-Bishop is a three time breast cancer survivor. She was inspired by her own personal battle with breast cancer to help the BCNA in fundraising and raising awareness for this cause.
Marion formed a close relationship with BCNA founder, Lyn Swinburne and was there with Lyn at the initial conception of the Pink Lady Field of Women, and at the first major public awareness and fundraising event on the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra in 1998.

Having personally experienced breast cancer when in her forties, before the wonderful support and tools that are now available from the BCNA, Marion is aware of the importance of the work that BCNA does to ensure that every Australian diagnosed with cancer receives the best support, information, treatment and care.
Since 1998, Marion has loved attending and supporting many BCNA events. A favourite includes the annual BCNA luncheon where she has taken her treasured Chocolate Box staff, her brother and co-director Gary, family members, and friends.

The important partnership between BCNA and The Chocolate Box has grown over the past twenty years. With 2018 being the 20th anniversary of the BCNA and the 60th anniversary of The Chocolate Box, it seemed the perfect occasion to release a dedicated BCNA Pink Lady chocolate block.
Whilst many cancer organisations are represented by a pink ribbon, the symbol and logo for BCNA is the classic pink lady silhouette. The pink lady is symbolic of BCNA’s focus on the people affected by breast cancer, not the disease.
The BCNA Pink Lady Block is made in Australia from the finest quality ingredients and $3 of the proceeds from every block sold goes straight to the BCNA to fund much needed research.
